Local Resources

Here are some other local faith-based initiatives in the city that are doing excellent advocacy work. We encourage you to check them out and engage with their work!

Faith In The City

We are a growing network of faith leaders from across the religious spectrum in Toronto who are concerned about the wellbeing of our neighbourhoods and our city. Faith in the City seeks to encourage faith communities to engage with their neighbourhoods, to reach across their traditional faith boundaries and partner with other faith communities, non-profit organizations, and the City of Toronto, to build healthier neighbourhoods, and to be active in creating a better city for everyone.

ISARC/Interfaith Social Assistance Reform Coalition

The Interfaith Social Assistance Reform Coalition (ISARC) is a provincial network of faith groups working together for greater social justice. ISARC was born out of the hope that together a coalition of faith groups could contribute to new public policies based upon greater justice and dignity for Ontarians marginalized by poverty.

ISARC represents the solidarity of the diverse faith communities in Ontario engaged in advocacy efforts for the elimination of poverty in Ontario. ISARC is listening to the needs of people living in challenging economic and social times and helping faith communities to join the problem-solving process with other organizations. Community development is foundational to the approach of ISARC’s projects and activities to ensure sustainable, moral and ethical solutions to the systemic issues of poverty, exclusion and marginalization in our province.

Social Justice and Advocacy at the Diocese of Toronto

The Social Justice and Advocacy Consultant, together with the Social Justice and Advocacy Committee, coordinates and advances the public witness of our Diocese on issues of social and ecological justice. We seek to be faithful to God’s call to compassion and justice, live out our baptismal vows, and engage faithfully with the world.
